Want to delete wp.com site as have migrated to different hosting setup

    Hi there, I’ve migrated my site to a wp.org set up hosted on bluehost. Can I delete my wordpress.com account and will this affect my blog in anyway? Thanks!

    Correct account: Yes

    To clear up any confusion, WordPress.com and WordPress.org are two different entities: https://wordpress.com/support/com-vs-org/

    So, you can safely delete your WordPress.com account without affecting your new site.

    With that said, in order to facilitate deleting your account, we do need to fully downgrade your old Business Plan site, which may result in the loss of any data created with plugins.

    I’m sure this is what you want, but as it could result in data loss, we do need to ask for confirmation first.
