Want to start a business blog, but also later a website for that business

  if i sign up for a .com for my blog can I use it later for a company website or do I loose that ability?

  If you register a custom domain name and map it to your blog here – you can use the custom domain name for a site not hosted on WordPress.COM any time you want – simple to do actually – no extra charge by the way
