Want to switch WordPress.com-bought domain DNS to point to self-hosted accnt

  I would like to self-host my site but the domain was bought via WordPress.com. How do I make the switch so that I can change the DNS records to point to new host accnt?

  To point the domain you registered at WordPress.com to another server (hosting service), please follow the instructions here:
  http://en.support.wordpress.com/domain-mapping/domain-management/#update-nameservers

  Note you will need to obtain the name server values from your current host. You should be able to find them on their support documentation, or contact them and ask for the information. (Name servers may be referred as “nameservers” or “NS records” instead.)

  Thanks for the reply; I want to change the name servers to the following:

  ns1.fairfieldinternet.com
  ns2.fairfieldinternet.com

  Please advise as the instructions on the site no longer seem to work,

  It looks like the nameserver changes were not saved.

  Did you follow the guide at http://en.support.wordpress.com/domain-mapping/domain-management/#update-nameservers ?

  If so, which step caused you trouble?
