Was Charged Twice?

    Recurring payment for my domain was 44.97, then 3 days later I was charged for 48 more. What’s up?

    The account you’re using to post here doesn’t own any domains, and has never bought any upgrades from us. Regarding what domain upgrade is this?

    The OP knows what upgrade the charge is for, so the form at wpchrg won’t help them. They’re asking about a duplicate charge, which we can check on for them.

    Well my website is through bluehost, I believe. My first charge was a recurring one to keep my website up for three months. Don’t know what the other one is but it’s labeled on my bank account as

    PURCHASE AUTHORIZED ON 10/09 WORDPRESS XXXXXXXX HTTPSWORDPRES CA XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX CARD XXXX

    The recurring subscription payment is listed as

    RECURRING PAYMENT AUTHORIZED ON 10/04 EIG*SEVENSKYMUSIC. XXX-XXXXXXX UT XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX CARD XXXX

    Yeah, I don’t use or buy anything through WordPress and my Bluehost is only supposed to be charged for keeping my website up.

  • WordPress.com and Bluehost are two completely separate companies. It sounds like you have a site on a hosting plan with them, but that you also have an upgraded site with us, which would mean this is not a duplicate charge, but two charges by two different companies for two completely different services.

    $48 is the cost of a WordPress.com Personal Plan, and if this was an automatic renewal it means it’s for an upgrade that you purchased from us at least 11 months ago. We would have sent notifications that this renewal was approaching at least a month ago to the email address for the WordPress.com account that owns the upgrade.
