    could you please let me know who logged in
    I also have a new site that doesn’t seem to appear in my list could you tele why and what to do to register it

    @flowerintherock150885898, I wanted to add as well, if someone logged in as you and that was not you, I recommend taking two actions right away:

    – Enable Two Step Authentication on this account. Here’s how:

    Enable Two-Step Authentication

    – Secure your email address

    In the future, you’ll also want to ensure you’re not leaving yourself logged into email on any computers that have shared access (like one at a school or library).

    thanks for the advice
    there was a notification saying someone logged in to my comment session but I know it wasn’t me because I don’t even know how to do it and haven’t used that site in while.
    I usually use my Mac so I am not sure how this could have happened.( I have used public wifi nut not public computers)

    my email I use for that site is the same email I am now using for a hostgator/wordpress site with an official domain. could that security been compromised too?

    The only way someone is able to log into your account using an email link, is if they also had access to your email account, or are somehow able to intercept your emails. From our end we have no way of knowing if something like this has happened, but if you’re in any doubt, I’d recommend changing the password on your email account and enabling two-step authentication there as well.

    The admin login for your Hostgator site has nothing at all to do with WordPress.com’s login system, and unless you have a plugin installed on that site to allow passwordless login, there’s no way someone can log into that account without knowing, or being able to reset, your password for that account. That said, there are plugins you can install to add two-step authentication to the admin logins for self-hosted WordPress sites as an extra layer of security, so once again I’d recommend that, as it’s just a good practice to follow in general.
