  I’m looking for web building software to build a website for my existing server space. WordPress was recommended to me by a couple people. They said I would be able to download your software, build webpages , save them as HTML files and place them on my server space. I’m not finding that option or anywhere to download. Is this option still available? Thanks

  You’re talking about the open-source WordPress software. This can be downloaded from WordPress.org.

  To clear up any further confusion, there is WordPress.com and WordPress.org, and they are two different entities.

  We, WordPress.com, are a cloud-based platform where we manage WordPress sites, whereas WordPress.org is stand-alone software that you can download and self-host with any other hosting.
