Web editing speed

    I am new to web design and have been building my blog over the last few weeks. It started okay and I was finally getting the hang of it. But now literally everything i press on wordpress or scroll down a page or load or edit anything, it takes several minutes to load and half the time doesn’t even load at all. I don’t undertsand what I am doing wrong why this is happening. I didn’t install any unknown plug ins and only had 4-5 on there.

    My theme was astra and i used elementor to edit it as recommended online.

    I have only build my home page and already am tempted to cancel my account if this is the speed and operating system I am going to have to put up with.

    Please could someone explain to me in simple terms as I do not undertstand web jargon.
    what is the issue and how to fix it.
