Web page URL confussion

  Hey there
  I paid to get the domain name thelightshinesthrough.com, but my URL name says that it is under thelightshinesthroughdotcom.wordpress.com. Did I do something wrong when I signed up? Thanks :)

  Hi Harmoni,

  Don’t worry, you didn’t do anything wrong. :) Your blog is at your custom domain here: http://thelightshinesthrough.com/

  That is the address that your visitors will see when they visit your site. The address thelightshinesthroughdotcom.wordpress.com is an internal address that was created when you registered the domain. To make sure the domain registration goes through and there isn’t a conflict with a pre-existing site, the “dotcom” phrase is appended to the internal address.

  Only you can see that internal address, for example when you visit your blog’s dashboard. Your custom domain is what everyone will see when they visit the blog itself.
