Web site builder with customized database

I would like to have a web site builder that quickly designs and builds a web site yet has the flexibility to connect to a custom database of mine and display data from my database on the web site. Specifically I have a dart league and I need to store and display player information, teams, standings, ratings, etc. So I want the ease of a builder to design yet allow customization by me. Does such a product/tool exist with WordPress?

To have the site pull data from your own custom database, you’d likely need to create your own custom plugin. But there might be existing plugins that work similarly, where the plugin creates its own database.
The best place to ask about that is the forums over on WordPress.org, though. In this forum we can only help with sites hosted on WordPress.com, and to a limited extent with the Jetpack plugin which we make. We cannot really help with or advise on plugins made by other companies.

To build your own custom plugin, you can consider a service like Upwork.com
To use such a plugin on a WordPress.com site would require our Business Plan, and that has to be purchased for every individual site where you want to use the plugin. So for a case like what you’re describing, where you’ll be needing to run multiple sites, a more traditional WordPress host like Bluehost might be a better fit for you than WordPress.com.
With such a host you’d also have direct access to the site’s own database, which we don’t offer, and you’ll be able to create your sites on a multisite network, which would allow you to manage all the sites via a single super-admin account. The WordPress.org forums will be able give you more info on how multisites work.
