Web site issues with one of the themes

    I have a mutli-level issue. I am the IT director here and run the communication for our hosting site. The Web-master here uses WordPress to build and maintain our site. Yesterday she made changes that included a Theme from WordPress that caused the site to crash. I was able to get it running again with the help of iPage turning off the theme. I believe the name was Lectura for the theme.
    Secondly, is there a way I can also have access to the WordPress area to update our site or make repairs/changes when the web master is out (as she will be for a week or so now) My experience building web pages was coding HTML and uploading the files via FTP. I have never used this platform before. The current web master does not know how to tell me how to use it as she only knows what was passed to her by the one before her.
