    Hello, my current website domain and website builder is with GoDaddy. If I do a domain transfer, do I need to close my shop down whilst I redesign the website with yourselves? Thank you

    Hi there,

    If you wish you can hold off on transferring your domain until the very end (when you are ready to launch) and instead get your site set up on the “wordpress.com” URL we assign to all sites at time of creation.

    To do that start a new site here and when you are asked for the site URL, pick the “wordpress.com” URL option for now.

    Then you can get your site all set up and ready. When you are ready to “launch” you can transfer your domain at that time, which will effectively replace your old site with the new one here on WordPress.com.
