  I have tried to use my own domain from GoDaddy and it wants to charge me. I don’t want wordpress.com at the end of my name.
  2) how do I make sure my website hasn’t been published if I’m still working on it?

  Hi –

  When the domain gets connected to your account, that free version with .wordpress.com isn’t going to be visible any more. Your domain will over ride it in browsers. Does that make sense?

  In order to connect the domain you’ll need to map or transfer it. Those instructions are listed below. Please give them a look and write back with more questions.
