Website blank after edit function from themes editor

Hello i wanna ask something. So after I edit the function.php (child) via ‘Theme editor’, an error appears with the sentence ‘Something went wrong. Your change may not have been saved. Please try again. There is also a chance that you may need to manually fix and upload the file over http://FTP.’ and the website goes blank.
Can anybody tell how to fix this? thanks in advance
