Website? Blog? Both?
-
I want to publish a lengthy piece of non-fiction of more than 25,000 words about a particular difficult family situtaion with view to inviting feedback from the public. I am not sure exactly whether to build a site, blog or both. I would prefer if someone could manage and maintain the site for me, and I would just add content and updates when necessary. I want to call it ‘Free to Love Again’ .
Correct account: Yes
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Hi tomashynes017556, both is good! It really depends on your content. Right now I’m going to throw out a lot of ideas and thoughts, and if you want to share more specifics about what might work for you, we can simplify.
– Any initial stuff that isn’t “news” necessarily (a contact form, an about page) can be added as static pages: https://wordpress.com/page
– All of your new articles can be posts. That way site followers can get updates when you add new content: https://wordpress.com/posts
We have more info here:
https://wordpress.com/support/post-vs-page/Just noting for future ideas, pages can have sections that display recent or featured blog posts, too.
As for allowing feedback: posts and pages can have a “leave a reply” form for public comments. They’re on by default with posts, and off by default with pages. OR, if you want people to be able to send more private feedback, you can just set up a contact form:
https://wordpress.com/support/wordpress-editor/blocks/form-block/I’d recommend starting with the basics of what your site needs. If the essay is going to be one static thing, great. If you want to set it up as a series of posts, that’s fine too.
So many possibilities! Let us know what options sound ideal for you, so we can recommend which steps you’ll want to get started.
