Website Copy Protection

I run a charity research website that displays information that has been researched. we have since been given new conditions that mean our website needs to be copy protected. I have seen that there is a plugin to do this but it requires a business plan, sadly we do not have funding for a website but it remains a term of conditions for some of our support. Is there anyway we would be able to get some help, maybe we could pay to have the plugin added rather than the site. Alternatively it is likely that we would have to take the site down.

Many thanks for any help you may be able to offer.

  • Hi there,

I’m afraid that we cannot simply incorporate the functionality of a plugin to a single site and if you absolutely must use that plugin the only way is to upgrade to the Business plan.

Can you please let me know the name of that plugin and how exactly you want to copy protect your content so I can have a look and see if there’s an alternative already built-in on WordPress.com? I was thinking of password protected posts and pages:

Also note there is no 100% copy proof protection. Everything you put on the internet can and will be copied someway or another. Those so called protections just make it more difficult to copy or download things.
