Website dissapeared

  Hi
  I went to logon this morning and the my username was not recognised to log in to the wordpress admin of the site I maintain, nor is it there as a page on the web, although still coming up in Google. Typing in the address brings you to ‘just another WordPress site’. I was not involved in the set-up of this site and maintain it for a charity, so feeling out of my depth.

  Hello,

  This also happened to my website as well. The login is no longer even recognized as I tried to recover the password. It did not work, and my website went down yesterday in the afternoon. It currently only has one thing when you go to it, “Hello world!” but still saying the organization’s name. We are a .com and not a .org, so that link you sent does not apply.

  the site is illinoisbusinesscouncil.com

  Everything was wiped if you could somehow restore it. I also was able to login to my original account by having another member send a recover email, but the website is still down and we were unable to find the issue even being able to login to our account. It was a different username though than what I use to access the admin features.

  Thanks! That site is hosted by GoDaddy rather than using our managed hosting environment from WordPress.com.

  Help with open source WordPress.org comes from https://wordpress.org/support/forums/

  I called GoDaddy yesterday to try and restore the website, but they said that they only host our domain and we would have to go through you (WordPress). Would that mean I’ll still be able to get help at the link you provided?

  The domain illinoisbusinesscouncil.com is registered by GoDaddy.com, LLC and it is pointed to siteground.us (that’s typically the hosting provider as well). It’s not using WordPress.com for either of those functions which indicates that it is not connected to our service.
