Website for software downloads compliant with TOS and advertising policy

  Hi;

  Can someone please tell me what websites are permitted to link to for software downloads, knowing that I am the author of the software?

  I hope you understand that at some point, I have to point to somewhere, especially when hotliking is not permitted in most platforms such as http://www.brothersoft.com, and that causes my blog to “not comply with the WordPress.com Terms of Service or advertising policy”.

  I did not meant to skip the hierarchy by asking volunteers, I just guessed that someone out there would already have the answer.

  Many sites have been suspended for download problems i.e. movies and bootleg software that they did not have the rights to – some download sites are noted for bootleg stuff – we just did not want to give you some bad info where you might have some problems – best to work with the staff in your case to prevent problems in the future.

  Hi ;

  I contacted the staff and they gave an answer.

  But before going any further, I must say “what a great community is this!”
  Whomever you ask, you got answers, and you got them quick! I am just happy to be here!

  The staff’s answer was this:

  “Most reputable download locations will work just fine – the one you were using before has been connected with spam activity on our service and that’s why it’s no longer allowed.”

  Keyword: “Reputable”

  So… there is nothing to enhance, is there?
