Website Hosted on WordPress Stealing Our Images
-
Hi,
There are multiple blogspot blogs that are stealing our images, putting them on their website, and hosting them on https://i2.wp.com/
Here are just a few of the spam sites that are using wp.com to host their stolen images:
https://emmettgoh.blogspot.com/2021/01/trisha-yearwood-recipes-trisha-yearwood.html
https://myrlefitts.blogspot.com/2021/01/nucriwave-fydge-nutella-fudge-this-is.html

https://cassaundramahler.blogspot.com/2020/12/prime-rib-at-250-degrees-how-to.html
If you look at the source code, these images are being hosted at https://i2.wp.com/ and
https://i0.wp.com/They are then linking to the original image, which of course we’ve NOT given them permission to use.
What do you recommend we do about this.
There are literally hundreds of spam blogspot.com blogs doing this with our images (and others) who are illegally stealing people’s images (including mine).

When you see links like this one: https://i2.wp.com, they are actually directing to images that are served through WordPress.com’s servers by our Photon service. This is a caching service that proxies third-party images through our own servers. So, we act as cacher only with respect to these images. And they are not hosted on our servers.
The actual images are hosted on blogspot. If you would like to request removal of these images under the DMCA, please file a DMCA notice with the owners of the originating websites.
Once the images are removed at the source, the cache will automatically become invalid and they will no longer display online.

What is the best way to file a DMCA with a blogspot host? I’ve found it most effective to submit DMCA complaints to the actual web hosting service.

This appears to the proper way for that: https://support.google.com/legal/troubleshooter/1114905?rd=1#ts=1115645%2C3331068
