  when wordpress asks for me to create my site url, does this mean that wordpress is hosting that site I create?

  When using WordPress.com we are the host for your site as well. There’s not an additional fee for it, we include hosting. Write back with more questions.

  Hello,

  I have my own web server and I wish to host the site myself. Is there a way to do that and not have to pay for hosting? I simply wish to create a site that I can host myself using WordPress as the website layout builder and add plugins. I plan to use apache on a raspberry pi and integrate wordpress into it.

  If you wish to host WordPress yourself, you’re looking for https://wordpress.org/ :)

  To clear up any confusion, WordPress.com and WordPress.org are two different entities: http://support.wordpress.com/com-vs-org/
