I own a domain name ‘www.gscmgiri.org’ purchased through Godaddy. I also purchased a web builder and hosting plan which expired recently. Godaddy people are creating a menace for us each year during the time of renewal. They quote very high price for renewals. But ours is a charity organization and our website is very very simple one.We update it once in 3 months with very less data. We had 3 of such websites.We are fed up of this Godaddy gimmicks. They are quoting the price thrich the amount they wanted from us in the beginning. So we don’t want to renew our web builder and hosting plan with them.So someone suggested us to try WordPress as it is the best option and economical. Now our website is offline as the plan expired recently. I want to ask you few things before i can move to you. Can i build, host and edit my website if i map my domain name with wordpress? Apart from paying mapping charges, do i need to pay anything extra for webbuilder/webhosting?(Don’t worry we will pay for annual renewal fee). Do you also skyrocket the plan price during renewals as godaddy is doing?

Yes, if you were using the self-hosted instance of WordPress with Go Daddy, WordPress.com operates very similarly.
In order to use your domain hosted elsewhere with your WordPress.com site, you’ll need to change the domain nameservers at your domain host, and point them over to WordPress.com. Our nameservers are:
NS1.WORDPRESS.COM
NS2.WORDPRESS.COM
NS3.WORDPRESS.COMThen, you’ll need to purchase the mapping subscription upgrade so that you can map your domain over to your WordPress.com site.
