Website Inaccessible – ‘Please check your Primary Site’s Jetpack connection’

  Can you please tell me how to remove the ‘primary site’ from this profile? I would like to create a new website, and am unable to change the primary site. The domain name which the primary site points to is for sale, and I have no idea how to change these settings.

  The last person who was using this account created a website in 2013, and I’m not sure how to remove the connection. Thanks!

  Hi there,

  You can update your primary site by going into your account settings here:

  https://wordpress.com/me/account

  However, there is not currently a primary site connected to your account.

  http://www.achillescolorado.org appears to be an old unused domain of yours that is still connected to your WordPress.com account via the Jetpack plugin. You’ll need to disconnect that site in order for it to be removed from your account. Instructions on how to do that is here:

  https://en.support.wordpress.com/disconnect-jetpack-sites/

  If you encounter any issues, let us know and we can remove it from you.

  Hello,

  Thank you for your quick response. I would really appreciate your help in removing the primary site.

  For some reason, on the account settings page, I can not view the primary site – the value is not in a text box. Instead, there is a horizontal where a textbox would be expected to be.

  The webpage https://wordpress.com/stats/ does not loads a mostly blank page, and the error is “Please check your Primary Site’s Jetpack connection.” However, I am unable to access the website that it points me towards ( link ) because it is not owned by us anymore.

  http://www.achillescolorado.org/ is the only site on your account. You cannot switch your primary site to another without having another site to switch to.

  You can start a new WordPress.com site at https://wordpress.com/start or if you already have an existing self-hosted WordPress.org site, you can connect it to your WordPress.com account with the Jetpack plugin: https://jetpack.com/support/getting-started-with-jetpack/
