  Howdy –

  There’s 2 options for connecting your domain to WordPress.com.

  1. Map it: https://en.support.wordpress.com/domains/map-existing-domain/ Best practice is to use our name servers rather than an A Record. This is fine for the majority of folks. The name server details are outlined in step #2 at that link.

  2. Transfer it: https://en.support.wordpress.com/incoming-domain-transfer/ WordPress.com would take over as your domain registrar with this option. There’d be no need to pursue mapping.

  Either option is fine, and neither is permanent.
