Website Is Confused with Theme Change

    Hi WordPress,
I am having some trouble with changing the Theme of my website, as every time I choose a different theme and press ‘activate’ and then ‘replace content’ it doesn’t do so. I have tried a few times and it is still registering the first theme I chose and just changing the colours. I first tried to change my URL so I could just begin fresh, as if the website was a new google tab but it did not work as I may have not done it properly. I then tried deleting the page and activating with a new theme again but it did the same thing all over again too. I hope you can help me completely reset my website so I can basically start afresh again. Thank you for the support.

  • Hi there!

While it’s not possible to reset your site to default settings, we can help you empty it from all content. That will remove all pages, posts, comments, media files, categories, etc. Because it’s irreversible, please confirm that this is what you want to do.

As for changing the theme, the one you’re currently using displays your recent posts on the homepage. You’d need to add some content for it to be visible there.
When activating the theme, demo content will not be automatically added to your site, although some themes will ask if you’d like to replace your current homepage with the demo one you can then adjust to your liking.

What’s the theme you would like to use on your site? Please activate it, and if things do not go as planned, let us know, and we’ll try to help you out :)
