Website isn’t on Google after 2 months
-
Hello, I had my site on ‘Private’ for around a year while I was building it, but made it public close to 2 months ago. I follow good SEO practices like alt text and my site is mobile friendly/fast to load. Yet, it is still not listed on Google and has not been crawled yet. Is this timescale normal? I am using the free WordPress edition. Thank you.

Hi there,
Firstly, I’ve taken a look at your site, and I don’t see anything wrong with how it is displayed and there seems to be nothing that is impeding peoples ability to visit it. Please also note that it can take search engines 4-6 weeks (sometimes longer) to update their search indexes, so if your site and/or domain are new, they may not appear in search results immediately.
The good news is that it can help to register your domain with Google directly, by following the steps here: https://en.support.wordpress.com/webmaster-tools/
It’s also worth pointing out that attracting traffic and visitors to your site (including search engines) is more art than science, and there is no easy answer I can offer here in the forums. With this in mind you may also wish to check out our Search Engine Optimization (SEO) course here, which is offered at no cost: https://wpcourses.com/course/intro-to-search-engine-optimization-seo/
Hope that helps. Please let us know if you have any more questions.
