    Hi, I changed my web address recently. I closed my original website and opened a new one. I then changed my web address to match the new site. However, when you click my name in comments and such you are directed to my old site which is no longer active. What’s happening?

    Hi there,

    The address your username links to is set in your account settings, and does not change automatically if you change the address for the actual site.

    Please go to https://wordpress.com/help/contact and update the address in the Website field. After you do that, new comments should start linking to the new address – old comments will not change, as that information is cached on the site where you commented and only the site owner can change that.
