I want to convert my blog into a website here. Kindly please tell how to go about it. Have gone through several explanations on internet regarding the same, but still not enough confident on getting started.

A blog is designed to have constantly updated content on the front page to keep regular visitors to the blog interested. A Website is more page-based with content that doesn’t change so often and with a static front page which is often used as an introduction to the site. Also some themes are more blog-like than others. It may be that a different theme would work better for what you are trying to achieve. https://wordpress.com/themes
