Website missing

    Hi,

    I’ve had my company website hosted on WordPress for 8 years I assume as a free account. I’ve gone to check on it last week and it’s just gone and I can’t explain why it’s gone and I can no longer access my WordPress account. It was there a month ago.

    I’ve opened up a new account and tried using my old username but it tells me that’s taken, so there’s possibly still an account there somewhere but requesting a new password under that username doesn’t send an email reset to any of the accounts I use.

    The only thing I can think of is that the web designer set up the account for me (I’m sure they didn’t) and the account has simply expired.

    I can’t even work out how to contact WordPress to see if I still have an account.

    I’m totally flummoxed. Any ideas?

    The web address I need help with is http://www.stretchelectrical.co.uk . The blog address is a new account I’ve created as I can’t work out how to contact support without having an account to request support.

    Hi there!

    We checked our records and we found that a site with the domain stretchelectrical.co.uk was never hosted by us at WordPress.com. This means if you used WordPress on your site, you used the free and open-source WordPress.org software. And your site was hosted by a different company.

    There are some differences between WordPress.com and WordPress.org. If you aren’t sure about them, please check the following page that explains it well: WordPress.com vs WordPress.org.

    Sites using the WordPress.org software are hosted by different companies. At this moment, the domain stretchelectrical.co.uk has one.com nameservers, so it’s possible they are your hosting service provider. Please contact one.com support for help with this as they can help you with getting the site back up.
