  Hello. I am trying to change the appearance of my website, however, I would like to keep one version of the site live while I work in the background. Can you provide easy instructions on how to have a static page that the public can continue to interact with work towards relaunching the website with a new appearance and content on a specified date?

  That is not a free hosted WordPress.COM blog and we don’t provide support for WordPress.ORG software at WordPress.COM. WordPress.com and WordPress.org are completely separate and have separate logins. If you don’t have a username account at WordPress.ORG click http://wordpress.org/support/ and register one on the top right hand corner of the page that opens, so you can post to the support forums there and receive advice from WordPress.ORG bloggers.
