Website Performance and Content Update Issues After Publishing Changes

I am facing an issue with my WordPress.com website where updates made in the dashboard are not consistently appearing on the live website. Sometimes new pages, edited content, images, or layout changes appear immediately, but other times they take a long time to reflect or do not appear at all unless I refresh multiple times or clear the browser cache. This behaviour is affecting the reliability of the website because visitors may see outdated information instead of the latest published content.

I have already checked the basic settings, publishing status, and browser cache, but the issue still occurs intermittently. I am also using some plugins and third-party integrations for analytics, forms, and website functionality, so I am wondering if there could be conflicts affecting how WordPress is serving the updated content. The website performance also seems inconsistent, with some pages loading normally while others take longer than expected.

Could someone please help me understand what could be causing these inconsistent updates and performance issues? I would like to know if there are any WordPress caching settings, plugin conflicts, database issues, or technical checks I should perform to identify the root cause and ensure that all website changes are displayed correctly for visitors.

    Hi @martinjames09,

After clearing the browser cache, clear the WordPress.com site cache once under Hosting > Settings > Server > Caching > Clear all. This cache guide shows the steps. Avoid installing a separate caching or database optimization plugin, as WordPress.com already handles those functions.

Then check an affected page while logged out. If it still shows old content, test for a plugin conflict on a staging site if available. Deactivate the plugins, check the page, and reactivate them one at a time.

The slower pages may be a related but separate issue. Large images, unnecessary plugins, and scripts from analytics or form services can all increase loading time.
