website question

Last year I moved my site to squarespace. I recently had to have the domain recovered through wordpress. Now it looks like our website, jennyjackfarm.com comes up on the old wordpress site as well as squarespace because when i go to it it comes up on the new site but a customer contacted me from the old one. how do i have only the new site active?

A domain cannot be connected to 2 different websites. jennyjackfarm.com brings me to your site running on the wordpress.com platform, https://www.whoishostingthis.com/#search=jennyjackfarm.com

when i go to jennyjackfarm.com it brings me to the one running on squarespace, and we have gotten 2 messages through the squarespace site in the past 24 hours ?

Hi there,
jennyjackfarm.comis definitely now pointing to your WordPress.com site. When did you update the nameservers? It sometimes takes several hours for the domain to propagate, so depending on where the customer was located, they could’ve still seen and accessed the Squarespace site after you updated the nameservers. Also, keep in mind that Squarespace has a built in domain that was generated when you created your site with them (similar to
.wordpress.comsubdomains). If your site is still up, customers very well could’ve accessed your site via the.squarespace.comsubdomain.Hope that helps. Let us know if you have any questions.
Thanks,

ok thank you. how do i cancel the wordpress site while keeping the domain active so i only have the sqarespace site? is there a way to do that so its still jennyjackfarm.com?

The domain will need to be attached to a WordPress.com site so it can be managed here, but you can make the WordPress.com site private without affecting how the domain works: https://wordpress.com/support/settings/privacy-settings/
