Website restore to previous date

  An employee made a mistake on my website and I’m hoping/praying you can restore it to a previous date. Is this possible?

  Hi Rootjosh,

  Thank you for replying. An employee was attempting to change a hone number on my website’s home page. She unintentionally deleted most of the content/graphics from the home page. I was told that wordpress has the ability to restore my site to an earlier date. I am trying to figure out how to do so.

  Your site is not hosted with WordPress.com. It is a site using the open-source WordPress software (from WordPress.org) but hosted with GoDaddy, and it was not using our backup product: https://jetpack.com/upgrade/backup/

  Because WordPress.com and WordPress.org are two entirely separate entities, we cannot access files or data for sites that are hosted elsewhere, so WordPress.com staff can only assist with sites that are hosted on our servers.   https://wordpress.org/support/ is a great resource for sites using the open source WordPress.org software, and you can find support for that at: https://wordpress.org/support/forums/

  Your hosting provider’s support team may also be able to assist.

  Thank you for your assistance macmanx. I was able to restore the website through wordpress.org.

  Additionally, I purchased an online appt with a wordpress.com specialist for $49 that I no longer need. It was origionallt scheduled for today. I cancelled the appt yesterday almost immediately after I purchased it. Is there a way I can get a refund?

  I’m glad to hear you had it sorted out.

  I have canceled and refunded the Support Session you purchased for your WordPress.com site. Refunds usually take 5-10 business days to appear on your statement, but some banks may require more time to process the refund.

  In some cases, you will not see a separate refund listed on your statement, but the original charge will be removed instead.
