Website Shopping and migration
-
Hello. I currently run my business site through Wix. I’m shopping around looking for the best deal and ease of use and I’m not sure where to start. I wondered if you could tell me how simple the migration is and if I can keep my same URL, etc. I use my site for information, to display my podcast through buzzsprout, blog, etc. I also use Mailchimp for my emails and calendly to schedule. I don’t sell through my site (www.10000swords.com)
Thanks!

Hi there,
We do offer a way to import the contents of your Wix site, so you can use that content as the starting point for a new site design here at WordPress.com: https://en.support.wordpress.com/import/import-from-wix/
It will be possible to use your existing domain (10000swords.com) but to do so you will need to upgrade to one of the paid plans we offer here, all of which include the option to connect a custom domain: https://wordpress.com/plans/
We do offer a Mailchimp integration you can use to take signups on your WordPress.com site, and you can learn more about that here: https://wordpress.com/support/wordpress-editor/blocks/mailchimp-block/
We do not have a specific integration to Calendly, but I see that they offer some suggestions on how you can integrate with WordPress here: https://help.calendly.com/hc/en-us/articles/223195568-How-to-embed-Calendly-in-WordPress
Please note that in that support article they mention that there is a difference between WordPress.com and WordPress.org, but that is no longer correct. For situations where they mention a “wordpress.org” integration, you can have that same option on your WordPress.com site by upgrading to the Business Plan, which allows you to use plugins, upload themes, or access and embed code as you wish.
We do not have an integration with Buzzsprout, but if you upgrade to our Business plan you would also be able to add their plugin to add that functionality: https://www.buzzsprout.com/wordpress-podcast-plugin
We also have our own podcast sharing service built in to WordPress.com. You can learn more about that here: https://en.support.wordpress.com/audio/podcasting/
Hope that helps. Please let us know if you have any more questions.
