Website Transfer

  Our Current Website is live on Square Space.
  We want to keep the site the same but I am afraid of downtime.
  Can I create my website on WP first and transfer once finalized.

  Hi there,

  All sites on WordPress.com get a free WordPress.com or .blog subdomain when the site is created, that functions just like any regular subdomain, and your site is fully online and accessible at that subdomain (provided you set it to public).

  Just select that free address during signup, and you can build the new WordPress.com site and only transfer your Squarespace domain once you’re ready.

  We also have a Squarespace importer to help you transfer your content – this process will import the content to the new WordPress.com site, but won’t have any effect on the Squarespace site; it doesn’t remove the content from there.
