  • Hi there, let me try to clarify a few things. Your self-hosted GoDaddy-hosted site and the one hosted by WordPress.com are two completely different sites.

What domain mapping does is point your domain name from one host to the other. In other words, if your domain uses GoDaddy’s name servers, sukuunholistics.com will lead visitors to your GoDaddy-hosted site. If your domain uses WordPress.com’s name servers, it will lead visitors to your WordPress.com-hosted site.

Since your GoDaddy site was made using their site builder, it won’t be possible to import the contents into your WordPress.com site, so you will need to rebuild it on WordPress.com.

While you bought a domain mapping upgrade at WordPress.com, your domain sukuunholistics.com is still pointing to your GoDaddy hosting, using GoDaddy’s name servers.

Once you’re ready to switch your domain over to point to your WordPress.com site, you’ll need to log into your domain registration control panel at GoDaddy and update the domain’s name servers to:

    ns1.wordpress.com
    ns2.wordpress.com
    ns3.wordpress.com
