Weird login issue

Hello! For the past three weeks, I’ve logged into WordPress the same way each time. WordPress.com, login, My Site, WP admin. Now that I have my site created and published, I log into WordPress and it says I don’t have any sites yet. However, when I go to the site URL, I have access to the back end of my site automatically. What happened??

That is a self-hosted WordPress.org site, which means it’s fully self-contained and not part of WordPress.com, that’s why you initially don’t see it in your account here.
To clear up any confusion, WordPress.com and WordPress.org are two different entities: http://support.wordpress.com/com-vs-org/
If you want to manage your self-hosted WordPress.org site here, you’ll need to install the Jetpack plugin: https://jetpack.com/support/getting-started-with-jetpack/

Oh! My apologies! However, that comment did trigger something in my memory. Support from my theme host said to deactivate jetpack because it causes some minor issues with their template. Any work-around to manage the site from WordPress.org in that circumstance?

@lstover214 You might ask them what specific modules cause problems, and just disable those.

Thanks! I have followed-up with them. They disabled the Jetpack plugin so that their Testimonial widget would behave correctly. I need the testimonial widget, so I have asked for a work-around.
Just to clarify – when I reactivate the Jetpack plugin (regardless of work-around from theme host or not), my site will be connected to WordPress again, correct?

Your site uses WordPress regardless of what plugins you have activated. That’s not going to change. The Jetpack plugin is associated with WordPress.com – so once Jetpack is reconnected to the site, you’re site will be connected to WordPress.com again.

Hello! I am having another issue now. I am unable to login to edit my website. I have tried logging into wordpress.com (which works, obviously), but when I go to my site, I am not logged in. When I try http://www.blueridgemtb.com/admin, it says my username is incorrect. I’m not sure what I’m doing wrong. Help?

That is a self-hosted WordPress.org site, which we really can’t help with here.
To clear up any confusion, WordPress.com and WordPress.org are two different entities: http://support.wordpress.com/com-vs-org/
