What are the renewal costs involving the premium package vs. free?

    I currently have the WordPress.com Premium package. To minimize my costs when its time to renew, what will be the impact on the site if I opt for the basic (free) option and simply renew the domain name and its privacy? If I’m not mistaken, the cost to renew the domain is $33.00. Does that include privacy? Understandably, the amount of disk space will drop to about 3GB. As for the Avid theme, I’m not sure of the implications there, if any. And, is there anything else I would need to be aware of? Finally, if I were to purchase a subdomain for $13.00, how would that impact the scenario?

    Hi there,

    If I’m not mistaken, the cost to renew the domain is $33.00. Does that include privacy?

    A .me domain is $25, and the privacy option is $8, for a total of $33.

    As for the Avid theme, I’m not sure of the implications there, if any.

    Themes aren’t included in the Premium bundle, but since individual theme purchases never expire, you can keep your Avid theme with no additional charges, even if you decided not to renew your Premium bundle.

    is there anything else I would need to be aware of?

    Aside from a domain, the Premium bundle includes these features that you could always opt to purchase individually as needed:

    – VideoPress upgrade
    – No Adss upgrade
    – 10 GB of storage and ability to upload audio files, through the Space Upgrade
    – Custom Design upgrade

    If you had made any changes to your site design through the Custom Design upgrade – custom fonts, CSS, colour schemes, etc. – they would go away unless you re-purchased the Custom Design upgrade separately.

    Finally, if I were to purchase a subdomain for $13.00, how would that impact the scenario?

    I imagine this would be a separate purchase, not related to your Premium bundle, so I don’t see any impact here.
