What counts as a view and/or visitor? email notification to subscribers

I have email subscribers to my blog who receive an email every time I post. The email contains the full text/photos of the post so when they open the email they can read it. When they open the email does that count as a view and/or visit. I am wondering because they aren’t actually going to my site. My son says maybe I should set the email notification to include just the first paragraph of the post so they have to open the actual post to see the full thing? Is that what I should do and if so how do I change the setting to show just the first paragraph?

No, that doesn’t count as a visit. They need to open that post on your blog for their visit to be registered in your stats.

You can do that by breaking your content with the More block. Here’s how to configure that:
