What happens to followers with a custom domain upgrade?

  Hi,

  I want to purchase the custom domain from wordpress.com (the $18 option of buying the domain from wordpress and mapping). My question is will the followers I currently have still receive updates and email notifications once the .wordpress.com is removed? I appreciate your help. I’ve been searching the forums and seem to find conflicting answers.

  They’ll still get all the notifications. Essentially you’ll have two URLs and they’ll both work.
