What is really included in WordPress plans

in the premium wordpress plan, do I get Yoast free? It says upgrade to business to install plugins. Whilst I dont want loads of plugins I do want Yoast to edit the meta description. It is unclear whether you also get plugins on Premium? It also says ‘get access to unlimited premium themes’ – does this mean the premium themes are included in the price?

    Any help would be great!

All WordPress.com plans benefit from good SEO but a WordPress.com Business plan is required to use Yoast and other advanced SEO tools. https://en.support.wordpress.com/seo-tools/
The Premium plan is restricted to the pre-installed popular plugins already available on lesser plans but it does allow you access to any of the 201 WordPress.com Premium themes at no further cost for as long as you continue to renew the Premium plan. https://wordpress.com/themes/premium
Pretty much any WordPress.org theme/plugin can be used with the WordPress.com Business plan.

    WordPress.com vs. WordPress.org

  • Hi there,

To add to @themagicrobot’s answer, the Business Plan allows you to install plugins. However, it does not include any plugins – if you want to make use of Yoast’s paid features, you still need to pay Yoast for that. Buying a plan from WordPress.com does not give you access to paid services from other companies.

The Premium and Business Plans give you access to all premium themes listed under My Site ->Themes. While Business will also give you the ability to install paid themes from other providers, you’ll need to buy the themes from those providers, just like with paid plugins.
