what is the mapping fee & why do I need it?

    I wish to create a free website because I am already paying crazy domains for domain & domain hosting>

    Mapping allows you to use a domain you already own with your WordPressdotcom site.

    In order to map a domain here, you will need to purchase one of the annual Upgrade Plans, which are listed here: https://wordpress.com/plans/

    If all you wish to do is create a free site at the base banksiabandb.wordpress.com address, that site address is free forever.

    Please be aware that in order to keep free sites free, WordPressdotcom may run advertising on it. From the Terms of Service:

    Advertisements. Automattic reserves the right to display advertisements on your blog unless you have purchased an Ad-free Upgrade or a VIP Service account.

    All of the Upgrade Plans include removal of WordPressdotcom advertising.
