What setting makes the most recent post appear first? (Default no longer on)

I’ve scrounged, the internet looking for the answer. I’ve used wordpress for YEARS, so I realize the default setting is for the most recent post to appear first, but I wouldn’t be writing, if it were still appearing that way.

I recently made many of my previous posts drafts and changed the title. I do not know if I accidentally hit a button during one of these processes, but on my blog the Aug. 16 post appears above/before the Aug. 19 post. I do NOT want chronological.

I understand the tabs in the editor change between Visual and text-coding, so if the solution is not through settings I will need to know EXACTLY where the html belongs and if it involves loops, I’ll need that broken down into English instead of tech talk.

The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Just Edit the post and change the date/time of posting. Make sure that none of the posts are Sticky.

I changed the dates and neither post has the ‘Stick this post to the front page’ checkbox marked, which I assume is the sticky post. (For anyone who reads this and that may be the issue you’re experiencing, here is the link I used to find out how to navigate to see if that was the issue: http://codex.wordpress.org/Sticky_Posts

Any other suggestions? This is a blog I use for updating parents and students. It will be very inconvenient for all of us if I cannot get this resolved. Thanks in advance!

An update. Thank you for the moral support. I went back and looked at my blog outside of editor to see if I noticed something that I was missing in the dashboard editor. In the archives sidebar I noticed it had a previous year, so that was causing the issue. Technically it was the date, so thank you for you assistance. My problem has been resolved.
