When I enter my domain address it switches to the old URL when page loads.

Hello! Our church went through a name change and we own the website http://www.aplacetomeetjesus.com through GoDaddy and it is linked with our wordpress account. Therefore when you type in the address it redirects to http://www.wysiwyghome.com. I was wondering the process to correct that problem. I found some information but I’m unsure of how to go about it and how to transfer all the information over as well as the pricing. We would like it to continuously say http://www.aplacetomeetjesus.com all the time. Thank you!
God Bless,

Hi there!
There are a couple steps to setting this up correctly.
First, go to Store > Domains in your dashboard and select “Map a Domain I already own”. Put in your new domain placetomeetjesus.com and complete the purchasing process.
Next, you’ll need to log into your account with GoDaddy and change your domain’s name servers to the following:
NS1.WORDPRESS.COM
NS2.WORDPRESS.COM
NS3.WORDPRESS.COMHere’s a quick guide on how to change your name servers in GoDaddy’s system:
http://support.godaddy.com/help/article/664/setting-nameservers-for-your-domain-names
Select “Setting Nameservers for a Domain Name Registered with Us”
Once those two things are done, you should be all set! Let me know if I can help along the way!

Thank you! I’m sorry I’m not very good with all the internet lingo.. So we already own http://www.aplacetomeetjesus.com just so I can explain to boss lady, what is it that we are purchasing? I want to make sure wysiwyghome is completely disabled. Is this a new blog with the aplacetomeetjesus name and we are purchasing the content transfer? Sorry to be a bother!
Thank you!

No worries! I’m happy to answer your questions!
what is it that we are purchasing?
You’re purchasing a Domain Mapping upgrade. It’s the same type of upgrade you were using to connect the domain wysiwyghome.com to your site. It looks like your previous upgrade is expired even though its mysteriously still working.
There is benefit in keeping both of them working. Any links that you had shared around the internet to wysiwyghome.com will break if you don’t keep the domain active and pointing to your WordPress.com site.
Is this a new blog with the aplacetomeetjesus name and we are purchasing the content transfer?
This will be the same exact site as you have now, with a different name applied to it.
Let me know if I can explain any of that further!

Thank you so much for your help! My last question is… do you have information on your pricing? Will it let me know before I do the actual switch? Is there a yearly subscription, etc?
Thank you again!
