when I upgrade free membership to something upper.

    Good afternoon or morning to dear support team.

    My concern is, weather if it’s a smart decision or not to start my account and website with free membership (to set up the layout first) and purchase other memberships later.

    For example, if I design my website as just a blog, without paying for anything, do I get to upgrade my membership and be able to just add tools for online shopping mall?

    Also, If I set up my domain as ‘suchandsuch.wordpress.blog.com’, because of the limitation of the free offers, would I be able to change it into ‘suchandsuch.com’ assuming that it is not taken as I purchase the membership without backup process?

    Hi there,

    You can upgrade your site and add your own domain at any time. Many people prefer to start with the free plan and only upgrade later once they’re sure WordPress.com is the right fit for them.

    When you upgrade, all that happens is that the extra features included in the plan gets activated on your site. Any content already on your site won’t be affected in any way.
