Where is my 'add custom themes' option?

  hello wordpress,

  i am attempting to add a custom theme, but i am not given the ‘theme portfolio’ option that i am accustomed to. instead, when ‘appearance’ is selected on the dashboard menu, i am taken to the theme marketplace.

  how do i navigate to a selection of ‘my themes’ so i can upload a theme not available in the marketplace.

  Themes can’t be uploaded to blogs hosted on WordPress.com. They can only be uploaded to self-hosted blogs running on WordPress.org software. You can read more about the differences between WordPress.com and WordPress.org here:
