Where is my dashboard?
-
Hi, I want to continue working on my site; I am going through a WordPress for Beginners 2021 book, and had been in the process of working through things on the dashboard for my site the last time I was logged in. Today I logged in, and I have no dashboard? When I try to go to ‘my site,’ it tells me I have no site. I know it isn’t launched yet (would say ‘coming soon’), but I do in fact ‘have’ a site I was working on ‘behind the scenes, so to speak. Then when I thought maybe my url got disconnected, I went to connect it, and it told me it was ‘taken’ — but I can’t ‘transfer’ it, bc it is already my domain for my existing WordPress.com site. :( So, where did it, and/or my dashboard, go? Please help! I came home from work early tonight just to devote my night to working on it.
The site I need help with is [visible only to staff] (email visible only to moderators and staff). It is not hosted by WordPress.com, but it is connected with Jetpack. This site is not linked to my WordPress.com account.

Hi there!
Your site is hosted with Bluehost, not with WordPress.com.
That said, you will access it by adding /wp-admin at the end of your URL.
You can also access it from your WordPress.com account, but for that, you will need to have a working Jetpack connection:
If you’re having any trouble connecting your site to the account, please ask for help at Jetpack’s support forums here: https://wordpress.org/support/plugin/jetpack/.
And to clear up any further confusion, there is WordPress.com and WordPress.org, and they are two different entities.
We, WordPress.com, are a cloud-based platform where we manage WordPress sites, whereas WordPress.org is stand-alone software that you can download and self-host with any other hosting.
You can find more details about WordPress.com and WordPress.org on this support page:
https://wordpress.com/support/com-vs-org/.
I hope that helps :)
