Where is the $13 domain upgrade option?

    First of all, WordPress, this is NOT ‘contact support’, as the link promised. It’s a forum. You should call things their proper name!
    I’m trying to renew my domain upgrade, which is $13 yearly, and instead every time I click on ‘Map a Domain,’ I am redirected to a page where I’m asked to pay for the $99 premium upgrade. Anyone has this problem? Have you been able to solve it?

    You can no longer register or map a domain individually with WordPress.com. Moving forward, domain subscriptions can be purchased as a part of one of our many plans here. This recent domains with plans only update was made as we continue to work diligently to provide the best WordPress.com experience for both users who choose to purchase a plan as well as those who choose the free plan.

    Our personal plan ($36) is a great option for those who primarily want to register a domain with us. In addition to the domain subscriptions, you also get no ads on your site and access to live chat support with our wonderful Happiness Engineers.

    If you look over the plans that we offer and do not think they are the best fit, purchasing and setting up a self-hosted WordPress.org site through reliable hosts such as Flywheel, Siteground, Pressable, and Bluehost is also a great option.

    Thanks, Darnell! Yeah, I’ll probably look into the WordPress.org options. The $13 upgrade was a great option when keeping many separate blogs on a limited budget (at $36 it adds up very quickly). Sad they don’t have that option any more. :(

    Since you had it subscribed before the update, I can set it up for you again. =)

    I was able to map alfredomac.com for you. You’ll still need to do a few things:

    1) Purchase the subscription here by renewing:
    https://wordpress.com/my-upgrades

    2) If you haven’t done so already, point the domain to our name servers:

    ns1.wordpress.com
    ns2.wordpress.com
    ns3.wordpress.com

    3) After giving that a few hours to take effect, set the domain as primary under https://wordpress.com/my-domains

    That’s really kind! Unfortunately your message went to the wrong folder and only today I saw it. The link to renew is now gone. Do you think you would be able to map it again for a few more days so I can renew it? Either way I’m grateful.
