Where's my Site?

  • Unknown's avatar

Hey, I just paid you guys $99 bucks (for your “bundle”) through PayPal and my JUST PAID FOR SITE disappeared. It was replaced by a big blank page that says: THIS WEBPAGE HAS A REDIRECT LOOP! What the hell does that mean? I got a popup that said, basically, DON’T DO ANYTHING. Well, I haven’t done anything for an hour and neither has your page. So what’s going on???

The site I JUST registered is (was?) called canusaproductions .org . My email is [redacted by staff] and my password is [redacted by staff]. My PHONE # is [redacted by staff]. I ask that you call me ASAP and, hopefully, set my mind at ease. I’d like to get some sleep tonight.

    Thank You,

    Tony Lanza

    Hi Tony,

When you register a new domain for a website, it can take 48-72 hours for the domain change to take full effect. In the meantime, you may see errors like the redirect loop you experienced when you try to visit your site.

You can try to force it to update sooner by clearing your browser’s cache and cookies.

If that doesn’t work, you can try flushing your computer’s DNS cache:
    http://www.whatsmydns.net/flush-dns.html

That should enable you to see the correct site at canusaproductions.org. Please let us know if you have any more questions!

Hold the presses! I was able to locate and activate my blog by sneaking through the back door. Don’t know what to do with it, but I found it. First order of business, I guess, is to change passwords (since I put the current one out there for everyone to see). And the ‘Premium ‘ bundle appears to be included.

So all’s well that ends well. Hope I didn’t cause any undue confusion.

    Thank You,

    Tony

    Hi Tony,

I’m glad you have it working now! I redacted your password before this forum post was made public, but it wouldn’t hurt to update your account password. You can get tips for selecting a good password here: Passwords

Staff here at WordPress.com won’t ever ask for your account password, so it’s best to keep your password completely private and not share it with anyone.
