Where's the Ham?
-
Looking at my Akismet all-time stats, it shows 8 all time spam and 4 ham (new blog). I have never received a comment notification, and have no comments (spam, ham or mustard) in my inbox. I really couldn’t care less about the spam, but if I have legit comments hanging around out there, I’d really like to access them. I emailed support and got some line about spam being deleted after x number of days…. really doesn’t help me with the ham issue. What the heck do I do?

Relax please. :) We frequently get this question from those who are new to wordpress.com. This is a multiuser blogging platform. The very worst of all spam that contains malware and/other malicious scripts etc. that threaten security and which could bring many blogs down or even bring the whole site down is NOT forwarded to us for examination. If you have spam to examine then you will find it by going to your comments page and clicking the “spam” link at the top of the page. http://http://butchdiaries.wordpress.com/wp-admin/edit-comments.php?comment_status=spam

OOPS! I’m sorry about that link above. It should have been:

Not horribly stressed about it, just trying to figure everything out :) Again, however, my question is about the 4 coimments that Askimet has apparently marked as legitimate comments which are also not showing up, not the Spam. Like I said…. couldn’t really care less about the spam. Maybe I’m confused about what “ham” actually is.

I had a few moments of extra time so I located this Staff response in another thread for you https://en.forums.wordpress.com/topic/spam-question-stats-question?replies=8#post-416589

BTW you may also want to note what’s in this support entry > http://en.support.wordpress.com/unwanted-comments/

So just write them off and move on with my life, a broken shell of a human being with no comments? *le sigh*

Maybe, like tt, Support misread spam for ham? I’d give it another go with them and good luck.
