Which is best for me to sell downloadable pdf patterns, a blog or website?

I started a blog and purchased ‘www.donnakaylacey.com’ to promote myself as a crochet designer. As of now, I am blogging occassionally about new patterns and linking to where people can purchase the patterns. But, I would like to have a blog/website where people could purchase them directly from the blog/site. All patterns are pdf files. Is there any way to sell these pdf pattern files directly from my blog or should I have created a website instead of a blog? If I end the blog and start a website, how do I transfer my domain name?

I’m afraid e-commerce isn’t possible here at WordPress.com.
If you require e-commerce/shopping cart functionality, you might be interested in a self-hosted (WordPress.org) installation. There are no restrictions on e-commerce if you set up a self-hosted WordPress.org blog instead of a WordPress.com blog, but there are some added responsibilities.
