White screen on New Post or New Post…no editing tools
-
How do I get the visual editor or any editing tools when I try and create a new page or post

Hi there,
On what site are you working? The account you’re using to post here does not own any sites on WordPress.com.
If you’re using the open source WordPress software at another host, please ask for help at https://wordpress.org/support/forums instead.

I am getting the white screen when I try to add a post, and when I try to contact support, when using my other computer (which is my main computer on which I recently had work done. ) I am using a different laptop to contact you.
I’m guessing that when the tech guy backed up my computer to a master server, then reloaded it, he must have accidentally removed the credential which allows that computer to be recognized as legit. How do I get my admin privileges back on that computer? Or do I have to buy a new one :-(

Hi @allysonyj, can you clarify what site you need help with? It sounds like you might be using your own installation with another host.
Otherwise, are you writing from wordpress.com/post ?

I am having trouble with both my sites: allysonjohnson.com and ajmccready.com
I purchased the domain names from Namecheap but I was under the impression I was hosted by wordpress.com. I certainly didn’t “want to get my hands dirty” using wordpress.org, as I know nothing about ftp, much less anything more arcane.
I have the following receipt from WordPress.com:
Billed To
allysonyj
(payment details redacted) -
I’ve removed those payment details because this is a public forum. It’s best practice to keep personal details out of here because the forums are indexed by search engines. That means, anything posted here, gets picked up and made available to many people very quick.
For the white screen:
– Try clearing your browser cache:
– Restart your internet connection.
– Try using a different browser, a different device, and a different internet connection to see if that makes a difference (like a neighbor or cafe). For the domains:
– ajmccready.com is connected to allysonjohnson.wordpress.com through domain mapping. That means that your domain is hosted at WordPress.com but the registration is at another source.– ajmccready.com is not connected to WordPress.com.
